# 6sense POC: How to Diagnose a Non-Renewal

Quick answer

A 6sense proof of concept can fail because of data fit, implementation, ownership, activation or economics. Diagnose those stages separately before concluding that intent data or the vendor does not work. This is a review framework, not a reported customer postmortem.

A 6sense proof of concept can fail because of data fit, implementation, ownership, activation or economics. Diagnose those stages separately before concluding that intent data or the vendor does not work. This is a review framework, not a reported customer postmortem.

This is a Leadpipe-authored buying guide. Product statements are based on the linked vendor references; evaluation steps are recommendations, not reported test results.

## Recover the original success criteria

Find the agreed target accounts, required capabilities, operating owners and evaluation window. If these were never written down, record that limitation. A proof of concept without a defined decision can drift into a collection of demos and anecdotes.

## Locate the failed stage

| Stage | Evidence to inspect | Possible next decision |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Input | Target accounts, regions and CRM quality | Repair the evaluation population |
| Signal | Relevance, source and freshness | Adjust scope or compare data providers |
| Priority | Why the account was selected | Revise scoring or acceptance rules |
| Activation | Whether a campaign or rep action occurred | Assign an owner or fix delivery |
| Outcome | Conversations and opportunities observed | Extend observation only with a reason |
| Economics | Total cost against accepted work | Reduce scope or select another model |

The [current 6sense product scope](https://6sense.com/) covers multiple parts of this process. A failure in one integration does not establish that every signal is poor; a compelling signal does not establish that the operating model is affordable.

## Decide what to retain

Keep the target definitions and successful workflows supported by evidence. Remove unused scope from a renewal proposal. If a narrower signal feed is sufficient, document how the remaining tasks will be performed and what that work costs.

For a broader replacement, use [6sense alternatives](/blog/what-are-the-alternatives-to-6sense/). For a smaller architecture, use the [intent-stack budget guide](/blog/six-sense-too-expensive-alternatives/). Do not turn a hypothetical failure pattern into a claim about a specific customer’s results.

## Where Leadpipe fits

Leadpipe supports both account-level and person-level workflows. Its [IP to Company API](/product/ip-to-company/) retrieves stored company information from an IPv4 or IPv6 address; its separate [Identification product](/product/identification/) supplies eligible visitor records and activity. Choose company context for account research and person-level output when the action requires a specific visitor. A company lookup returns no people or visits. Confirm API eligibility and its separate lookup allowance in the [official documentation](https://docs.leadpipe.com/ip-to-company/introduction).

Person-level coverage is strongest in the US. EU/UK traffic defaults to company-level identification; person-level requires affirmative consent. Fields can be missing, so judge required output on your actual traffic. If you need research signals from outside your website, evaluate [Orbit](/product/orbit/) separately and check its audience allowances.

The [current pricing page](/pricing/) lists Pro 500 at $147/month for 500 identification credits. The trial is **7 days or 500 profiles, whichever comes first, no card**. Confirm the delivery and data-use requirements of your chosen plan.

Use the [vendor evaluation kit](/resources/visitor-identification/) to record the same acceptance criteria for every candidate. [Start a Leadpipe trial](https://dashboard.leadpipe.com/auth/signup) when website identification is the requirement you want to measure.
