# Identity Resolution APIs: Compare the Actual Data Job

Quick answer

Compare identity APIs by their starting identifiers, resolved entity, evidence and permitted use. Website identification, record enrichment and cross-record identity linking are different jobs, even when all return information about a person.

Compare identity APIs by their starting identifiers, resolved entity, evidence and permitted use. Website identification, record enrichment and cross-record identity linking are different jobs, even when all return information about a person.

This is a Leadpipe-authored buying guide. Product statements are based on the linked vendor references; evaluation steps are recommendations, not reported test results.

## Specify the resolution problem

Start with the input available to the application. A website event, a known email address and a partially filled CRM record do not offer the same evidence. The right provider must support the actual input without turning an ambiguous match into a confident identity claim.

## Compare service categories

| Starting requirement | Candidate reference | What to establish |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Eligible website activity | [Leadpipe identification](/product/identification/) | What visitor record is returned, regional scope and available fields |
| Link known identifiers | [FullContact interfaces](https://github.com/fullcontact/fullcontact-go) | Identifier semantics, resolution evidence and update behavior |
| Enrich a known person | [Apollo People Enrichment](https://docs.apollo.io/reference/people-enrichment) | Input specificity, returned fields and plan access |
| Complete contact fields | [LeadMagic API](https://leadmagic.io/docs/api-reference) | Operation-specific inputs, field status and consumption |
| Bulk contact enrichment | [FullEnrich](https://docs.fullenrich.com/api/v2/contact/enrich/bulk/post) | Partial completion, callbacks and correlation to the original record |

These are different entry points into a data workflow. Do not rank them using an unqualified match-rate column. A provider enriching a known email and a provider identifying an anonymous website visitor face different inputs and denominators.

## Review identity persistence

Ask how a resolved identifier behaves when an email changes, an employer becomes stale or conflicting input arrives. Determine whether a response updates an existing entity or creates a new one. The application needs a policy for unresolved and disputed records, not only a success path.

Keep source and timestamps with the data. If several suppliers enrich one entity, distinguish the system that owns the identity from the systems supplying attributes. Document how disagreements are resolved and when a human review is required.

## Evaluate the complete lifecycle

| Lifecycle stage | Evaluation evidence |
| --- | --- |
| Request | Required and optional identifiers, validation and ambiguity handling |
| Response | Entity type, missing fields and evidence of a match |
| Update | Stable association with the original record |
| Failure | Partial results, retries and unresolved cases |
| Suppression | Customer exclusions and blocked activation |
| Deletion | Removal requirements and downstream propagation |

## Compare economics and rights together

Measure accepted output and the consumption needed to obtain it. Include failed or repeated activity if it is billable under the selected plan. Confirm whether the agreement permits internal use, client delivery or embedding in an external product.

No universal latency, accuracy or annual price is established by this guide. Require documented limits and a representative evaluation of your application before committing to a provider.

## Where Leadpipe fits

Leadpipe supports both account-level and person-level workflows. Its [IP to Company API](/product/ip-to-company/) retrieves stored company information from an IPv4 or IPv6 address; its separate [Identification product](/product/identification/) supplies eligible visitor records and activity. Choose company context for account research and person-level output when the action requires a specific visitor. A company lookup returns no people or visits. Confirm API eligibility and its separate lookup allowance in the [official documentation](https://docs.leadpipe.com/ip-to-company/introduction).

Person-level coverage is strongest in the US. EU/UK traffic defaults to company-level identification; person-level requires affirmative consent. Fields can be missing, so judge required output on your actual traffic. If you need research signals from outside your website, evaluate [Orbit](/product/orbit/) separately and check its audience allowances.

The [current pricing page](/pricing/) lists Pro 500 at $147/month for 500 identification credits. The trial is **7 days or 500 profiles, whichever comes first, no card**. Confirm the delivery and data-use requirements of your chosen plan.

Use the [vendor evaluation kit](/resources/visitor-identification/) to record the same acceptance criteria for every candidate. [Start a Leadpipe trial](https://dashboard.leadpipe.com/auth/signup) when website identification is the requirement you want to measure.
