Finding an email and deciding whether to contact its owner are separate jobs. Your Hunter budget should account for both, even though only one happens inside the data tool.
At Leadpipe, we work from the visit or research signal that makes a record worth reviewing. When an email-finding tool enters that process, the buying question becomes specific: which missing fields need to be found, verified and passed to the next system?
Hunter offers Free, Starter, Growth, Scale and Enterprise plans, plus a separate Data Platform purchase. Choose around credit consumption and connected mailboxes as well as subscription price. The public page describes unlimited team members, so a simple per-rep price comparison can miss how this subscription is structured.
What the current pricing page shows
The Hunter pricing page was checked September 23, 2026. The view retrieved for this article displayed euros and annual billing. The figures below preserve those units; they are not converted or presented as a US-dollar quote.
| Plan | Displayed monthly equivalent in EUR | Displayed annual total | Credits in the displayed annual plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | €0 | €0 | 50 per month |
| Starter | €34 | €408 | 24,000 per year |
| Growth | €104 | €1,248 | 120,000 per year |
| Scale | €209 | €2,508 | 300,000 per year |
| Enterprise | Scoped quote | Scoped quote | Custom |
The same page lists one connected email account for Free, three for Starter, ten for Growth and twenty for Scale. Paid capacity and optional purchases should be confirmed in your selected checkout view.
If you are buying in another currency, open the vendor page with the relevant billing selection. Save the offer used for approval. An internal purchasing sheet should contain the actual invoice currency, term and renewal conditions, rather than an exchange-rate conversion of a blog table.
Three constraints to check before picking a tier
1. Data work
List the operations the team intends to run: finding a missing email, searching a company domain, or verifying an existing address. Those workloads start with different inputs. Counting them all as “leads” makes the forecast difficult to reconcile later.
Record how many unique records require each operation. If a contact already has a usable verified email, another lookup needs a reason. If the contact is outside the target market, finding a better address may still create no usable opportunity.
2. Execution capacity
The number of people with account access and the number of connected sending accounts are different constraints. A team can have enough user access but need a different arrangement for its mailboxes.
Before selecting a tier, draw the actual ownership model. Which mailbox sends? Who approves the list? Who handles replies? Where is a suppression decision recorded? A larger credit allocation does not resolve unclear ownership.
3. Billing commitment
Compare the amount due and the period it covers. An annual offer may show a lower monthly equivalent while requiring an annual purchase. Model the cash commitment separately from the monthly operating cost used by finance.
If campaign volume is uncertain, include a lower-usage scenario in the decision. Capacity that remains unused still belongs in the cost denominator. Do not assume that buying a larger allowance makes each accepted record cheaper when the team cannot use it.
A practical credit-planning worksheet
Use the following as a workload model, not a statement of Hunter’s charge per operation. Confirm those rules in the current account or the vendor’s plans and pricing help collection.
| Input | Illustrative quantity | Question to resolve |
|---|---|---|
| Candidate records received | 1,000 | Are they unique and relevant? |
| Records excluded before lookup | 600 | Did fit or suppression remove them? |
| Remaining records missing an email | 250 | Which finding operation applies? |
| Existing addresses needing verification | 150 | What is the current verification charge? |
| Records accepted for the campaign | Measured after review | How many actually reach the owner? |
The quantities are hypothetical. They show why a 1,000-row input file need not require 1,000 new email discoveries. Filtering and identifying missing fields before lookup can change the workload materially.
Keep the final accepted count separate from the number of successful lookups. A technically successful lookup can still return a contact your team should exclude. Compare cost per accepted record and time spent reviewing rejected records.
For a broader selection process, use our data-enrichment tools guide. It includes a field-level evaluation method rather than treating every returned value as useful.
Subscription versus Data Platform
Hunter’s pricing page also offers a Data Platform purchase with separate search and verification credit quantities. Evaluate that option when the job is a defined data-processing workload. Evaluate the outreach subscription when the team needs the surrounding operational interface and sending workflow.
Make the comparison using the same work sample. For example, take a permitted sample of existing CRM contacts with known missing fields. Measure which route provides the required result, what the operating process costs and how failures return to the person maintaining the data.
A different purchasing model does not make the implementation effort disappear. Account for whoever prepares input files, maps fields, handles exceptions and reconciles charges. Our Hunter alternatives guide can help if the needed output extends beyond email finding and verification.
When another data source is still needed
An email tool needs an input that makes the contact identifiable. If the starting point is an eligible anonymous visit, website identification addresses an earlier part of the workflow. If the starting point is a known contact with a missing field, enrichment may be the immediate task.
Do not add Hunter automatically to every identified visitor. First inspect the available record. Look up only fields required for the campaign that are genuinely missing or stale. Use an allowed purpose, preserve suppression rules and keep a record of where updates came from.
Teams using Clay to orchestrate these steps should budget the platform independently of provider data. Our Clay pricing guide explains that separation. Bringing a provider into a workflow can create both a provider charge and a platform operation.
Before approving the purchase
Create one short approval sheet containing the selected plan, invoice currency, amount due, billing term, expected workload and mailbox requirement. Attach a sample result and note the reason rejected records failed.
Give one person responsibility for reviewing consumption during the initial campaign. That person should be able to explain the difference between the expected workload and the recorded usage. If no one owns that reconciliation, the first reliable cost estimate may arrive at renewal.
Keep the success criterion close to the actual task. If the goal is to prepare a qualified calling list, finding email addresses is not sufficient. If the goal is email outreach, an exported file is not evidence of delivery, replies or revenue.
FAQ
Does Hunter have a free plan?
Yes. The checked pricing page lists 50 credits per month on Free. Review the current included features and limits before building an ongoing workflow around it.
Why does this article show euros?
That is the currency displayed in the retrieved official pricing view. Confirm your own checkout currency and billing selection; this article does not invent a USD equivalent.
Do I need the largest credit plan to support more teammates?
Not necessarily. The public page describes unlimited team members. Check credit consumption, connected mailboxes and required capabilities as separate constraints.
Does email verification prove that a contact wants to buy?
No. Verification and buying intent answer different questions. Use a relevant signal, qualification rules and appropriate outreach practices before assigning a sales action.
If the missing input is who is visiting your website, review Leadpipe pricing and evaluate the records on your own traffic. The trial is 7 days or 500 profiles, whichever comes first, no card.
Compare the replacement decision
Pricing is one part of the purchase. Use the comparison directory to compare the product scope, and define which required workflow would move if you changed vendors. Preserve the quoted billing period, allowance and data-use terms with your evaluation notes.
